J. Warner argues that true human free will cannot be explained in a purely physical, atheistic universe, but instead points to the existence of a Creator outside space, time, and matter. He illustrates that genuine free agency, along with love, rationality, and moral accountability, only makes sense if humans are created in the image of a God who possesses and grants these immaterial capacities.​
