Can the Truth Be Known with Any Certainty? (Video)

Even if some claims are objectively true, how can we be sure – given our limited ability as finite humans – we can know the truth with any certainty? Isn’t it arrogant to claim you know something is true, to the exclusion of all other views and opinions? In this video from J. Warner’s “Quick Shots: Fast Answers to Hard Questions” series on RightNow Media, J. Warner answers this common question related to the claims of Christianity.

Just shared this video with my sister.

I was in a conversation with here a month or so ago where we talked about Christianity and my view of what I believe. She said something along the lines of, “It might be a small t truth, but it’s not a big T Truth” as if to say objective truth doesn’t exist.

I am hoping to open up a dialog with her about these things. I am nervous because although I have done a decent amount of evangelism in my time being a Christian, I haven’t really taken the time to engage with my sister on this stuff. She was raised in a Christian family so she thinks she knows what Christianity is. She thinks Christianity is “inclusive” and “not fair” and “just as sexist as Islam” and she believes in all this stuff about the patriarchy and everything. So I feel like I have a tough road ahead of me. But I care about her. I care about her salvation. All I want to do is start a dialog with her. I started that about a month ago. I am praying she might be open to what I say.

Thank you so much for what you do Mr. Wallace. It means a lot that I can depend on some people for the answers to some tough questions that are likely to arise.
